The discussion came during a meeting of Transport Minister, Ali Hammoud, with Lebanese Ambassador in Damascus, Saad Zakhia, on Wednesday.
" Syria enjoys a significant and vital geographical position which makes it an air, land and railway crossing point," Hammoud said.
He added that Syria is linked with Lebanon through a number of border crossings which link Lebanon with Iraq and Jordan and serve the commercial exchange and transit between the two countries.
Minister Hammoud expressed his Ministry's desire to develop cooperation with the Lebanese side, asserting the importance of activating the agreements signed between the two countries and developing them, particularly in the railway and land roads domain.
For his part, Zakhia affirmed the importance of reviving cooperation, the goods movement, role of businessmen, mutual visits and exhibitions, particularly that Syria possesses an advanced infrastructure in road, railway, maritime and air transport.
