CAIRO, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Egypt sent on Wednesday the fourth batch of aid to Lebanon to help the country face the aftermath of last week's massive explosion that rocked the capital Beirut, said the Egyptian army.

An Egyptian military plane carrying the fourth batch of medical supplies and food stuff arrived at Beirut airport earlier in the day as part of an emergency air bridge through which Egypt has been sending a plane every 48 hours with necessary aid to the disaster-stricken city.

An Egyptian military field hospital has previously been established in Beirut to provide medical care to those injured in the blast.

Egypt has recently repatriated the bodies of the three Egyptians killed in the enormous Beirut blast and sent them back to their hometown for burial.
