PanARMENIAN.Net - Two Lebanese Armenian families have moved to Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), Chief Adviser to the President Rudik Hyusnunts said Tuesday, August 25.

At a meeting on assistance programs for Lebanese-Armenians, Hyusnunts said all the necessary living conditions have been created for the families.

Karabakh President Arayik Harutyunyan, who was presiding over the meeting, noted that although it is important to preserve the integrity of the Armenian community in Lebanon, Karabakh is ready to host all Lebanese-Armenians who would like to settle there.

Harutyunyan said those who come will be given jobs, with other social guarantees to follow.

Karabakh has sent humanitarian aid to Lebanon following the devastating blast that hit Beirut on August 4. According to official information, the explosion was the result of the detonation of 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate that had been stored for six years without safety measures at Beirut's port. Around two hundred people were reported killed, while dozens are still missing.
