BEIRUT, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon and France signed on Monday deals about three projects in the fields of mountain combat, training and joint maritime rescue, the National News Agency reported.

The deals, which were signed by the Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Joseph Aoun and French Ambassador to Lebanon Anne Grillo, aim at developing the Lebanese army's capabilities, said the report.

Aoun praised the support provided by France for the Lebanese army.

"The projects will develop the level of the military in many areas," he said, vowing that "the army will continue to protect the country's stability."
