KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese army delegation suspended on Wednesday its participation in ongoing negotiations with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the Saudi Arabian port city of Jeddah, a senior military source said.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the suspension was not a withdrawal from the negotiations, but an expression of the army's rejection of the continued and repeated violations by the RSF of the short-term ceasefire agreement. (Sudan-Conflicts-Negotiations)

BEIRUT -- Five members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) were reported killed and others injured in an airstrike on Wednesday.

The attack targeted a PFLP site located in the eastern Lebanese town of Qusaya, near the Syrian border, according to the Elnashra news website. (Lebanon-Palestine-Airstrike)

KHARTOUM -- Sudan's Civil Aviation Authority on Wednesday extended the closure of the country's airspace to June 15 amid continued armed conflict between the Sudanese Army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.

In a notice to airmen, or NOTAM, on Wednesday, the authority decided to extend the closure of airspace for all civil flights, with the exception of those carrying humanitarian aid. (Sudan-Airspace Closure-Extension)

DAMASCUS -- Syrian and Chinese officials jointly announced on Wednesday that China donated 225 prefabricated houses to accommodate the Syrians displaced by the devastating earthquake on Feb. 6.

The handover certificate was signed by Syria's Minister of Local Administration and Environment Hussein Makhlouf and China's Ambassador to Syria Shi Hongwei in Damascus. (Syria-Quake Victims-Chinese Donation)
