SEOUL -- Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) had a historic meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday in the Russian Far East, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Thursday.

Kim, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, met with his Russian counterpart at the Vostochny spaceport in the Amur region, the report said. (Russia-DPRK-Ties)

BEIRUT -- Seven people were killed and 24 wounded after armed clashes broke out again on Wednesday afternoon in Lebanon's largest Palestinian refugee camp, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.

The Ain Al-Helweh Palestinian refugee camp near the southern city of Sidon witnessed violent clashes in which machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades were used, said NNA, adding that flare bombs were used for the first time within the refugee camp. (Palestine-Clashes-Camps)

DAMASCUS -- In the second attack on late Wednesday, an Israeli missile strike hit Syrian military sites in the central province of Hama and caused damage, the Syrian army said in a statement.

The attack, which was carried out from inside the Lebanese airspace, hit the sites in the countryside of Hama, said the statement. (Israel-Syria-Strike)

BRASILIA -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva swore in three new ministers Wednesday in the first reform of his cabinet to broaden the government's allied base.
