ANKARA -- Turkish authorities launched a probe into a bombing attack in front of the interior ministry's building in the capital Ankara on Sunday, said Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's office.

Two police officers were slightly injured and one attacker died after he set off the suicide bomb, while the other bomber was shot dead by the police, said Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya. (Türkiye-Bomb Attack)

ANKARA -- Turkish forces carried out airstrikes in northern Iraq and destroyed 20 targets of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), the country's Defense Ministry said Sunday evening.

TRIPOLI -- Schools were reopened Sunday in the eastern city of Derna, which was hit by deadly floods a few weeks ago that caused thousands of casualties and great destruction.

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi authorities on Sunday ruled out intentional causes behind a fire incident at a wedding party in a predominantly Christian town in northern Iraq which took more than a hundred lives.

Saad al-Dulaimi, head of an investigation committee into the Tuesday fire, read the probe result at a press conference held in Baghdad, saying the final toll is 107 deaths and 82 injuries. (Iraq-Wedding Hall Fire-Probe Result)
