JERUSALEM/BEIRUT, March 22 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli military said on Saturday it struck Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, following rocket fire from Lebanese territory toward northern Israel.

Earlier in the day, Israel's air force intercepted three rockets launched from Lebanon toward the town of Metula in the Galilee region, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

Lebanese security sources confirmed to Xinhua that Israeli airstrikes had hit multiple sites across Lebanon.
