TEHRAN (Tasnim) The South African top diplomat strongly condemned the Israeli regimes recent act of aggression against Iran.

South Africas Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamola vehemently condemned the Zionist regimes violation of the Iranian territory and military strikes on Irans nuclear facilities.

He made the comments in a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Wednesday.

The South African diplomat also expressed sympathy with the Iranian people, saying his country will employ all capacities to protect the nuclear non-proliferation regime and support comprehensive negotiations to maintain international peace and security.

For his part, Araqchi admired South Africas stances in condemnation of the apartheid Zionist regimes aggression against Iran.

He slammed the illegal and terrorist Israeli strikes as a result of the Zionist regimes impunity and the global communitys inaction on the Israeli atrocities in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.

The Zionist regime waged an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on June 13. It carried out airstrikes on Irans nuclear, military and residential sites that resulted in the martyrdom of over 930 people, including top military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians.

The Iranian military forces started counterattacks immediately afterwards. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of retaliatory missile strikes against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III that inflicted heavy losses on cities across the occupied territories.

A ceasefire that came into force on June 24 brought the fighting to a halt.
