TEHRAN (Tasnim) Hezbollah solemnly marks one year since Israels brutal killing of its revered leader, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah.
- World news -On September 27, 2024, Israeli bunker-busting bombs mercilessly struck a Hezbollah complex in Beiruts southern suburbs, assassinating Nasrallah, the iconic leader who guided the resistancemovement for over three decades.
The loss of Nasrallah wasfollowed by the killing of his likely successor, Hashem Safieddine.
Nasrallah rose to leadership in 1992 at age 35, succeeding Seyed Abbas al-Musawi, who was also martyred by an Israeli helicopter attack.
Through his powerful oratory, Nasrallah transformed Hezbollah into a symbol of defiance to resist Israeli occupation.
Under his command, Hezbollah heroically expelled Israeli forces from southern Lebanon in 2000, ending 18 years of occupation.
In 2006, Nasrallah proclaimed a Divine Victory after Hezbollahs 33-day war against Israel, earning admiration across the Arab world for humbling Israels military might.
In solidarity with its Palestinian allies, Hezbollah joined the fight after Hamass October 7, 2023, operation, launching attacks from southern Lebanon against Israels aggression.
Israel retaliated with a vicious campaign, detonating rigged communication devices, unleashing relentless airstrikes, and invading southern Lebanon.
The onslaught claimed over 4,000 lives, including more than 300 children, with Israels deadly strikes persisting despite a fragile truce.
Crowds are expected to rally in Hezbollahs strongholds in Beiruts southern suburbs, southern Lebanon, and the east, where Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem will deliver a defiant address.
