AMMAN, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Thursday sent an 18-truck humanitarian aid convoy to Lebanon, marking the fourth such mission under its emergency response to the neighboring country's crisis, according to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).

The convoy, organized by the JHCO, carries medical supplies, infant formula, and essential relief items. With this delivery, Jordan has now sent a total of 78 aid trucks to Lebanon via four land convoys, read a JHCO statement.

JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said that the sustained aid shipments reflect Jordan's commitment to supporting regional partners in times of crisis.

The humanitarian situation in Lebanon has deteriorated sharply since the collapse of the November 2024 ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel.

The truce ended on March 2 after a Hezbollah rocket attack on Israel, which triggered an intensified Israeli military campaign across Lebanon.

According to Lebanese health authorities, cited by the Lebanese news agency SANA on Thursday, the death toll from Israeli attacks since March 2 has risen to 2,715, with 8,353 wounded.
